Individualized Counselling
Change happens….right? Our lives are filled with opportunities to reflect, re-examine and recreate ourselves in the context of these life changes. Sometimes change is a welcome and invited guest and other times it is the result of something outside of our control. Regardless, each transition presents crisis and opportunity, losses and gains, and a push to engage in our life in an intentional way.
Intentional futures counselling is founded upon the belief that our identity is the anchor from which we navigate our life path. As a counsellor I believe that knowing “who we are” is essential in determining how we want to “show up” in our own lives.
The overarching goal of support is to gain insight and to develop new skills and strategies that you can take with you into all aspects of your life. I focus on identifying your core values and beliefs, developing emotional literacy and resilience, and cultivating self compassion and awareness into a daily practice. As a strength based practitioner, I will support you in recognizing and mobilizing your strengths and resources.
I welcome opportunities to work with individuals who are:
- encountering challenges related to life transitions
- interested in examining the BIG question: “who am I?”
- seeking tools for self compassion and coping
- experiencing grief associated with illness, death or separation
- curious about how to live more bravely: The Daring Way ™ and Rising Strong™
Custom Workshops & Groups
I have also developed a number of one day workshops and 6 – 8 week groups. I have presented to parents, teachers, childcare and healthcare professionals, and work teams who are interested in examining specific areas of their personal and professional lives. As well, I have worked closely with individuals coping with a chronic illness to examine how to integrate a condition, diagnosis or change in lifestyle into their identity as a person.
I have an office close to Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg and see clients outside of Winnipeg using skype or zoom technology.
Choose hope, embrace opportunity, and take care of yourself.
I hope to connect with you soon,
Meaghen
