I have been on the conference circuit for almost 20 years (that math even surprised me!) with my first ever conference presentation taking place right here in Winnipeg at the Manitoba Hospice and Palliative Care Conference. Creating and delivering custom presentations is one of my favorite things to do and I work closely with organizing committee’s to understand the learning objectives of the audience.
During my work in Academia I presented at National and International conferences on the topics of Grief and Loss, Social Work Education, and Identity Development. As well, I always took great pride in my three hour lectures and believe in using a variety of mediums to engage the variety of learners in every classroom or audience.
Since moving to Winnipeg, I have continued to focus on connecting to organizations to share my specific knowledge and skills. In the past three years I have worked with local organizations and delivered Keynote Addresses with The Canadian Mental Health Association and The Addictions Foundation. I have had the honor of speaking as a panel member at a Women’s Event organized by the Canadian Cancer Society where I was able to support “Women’s Wellness” by sharing some of the exclusive curriculum from The Daring Way™ with a group of women gathered to support growth and wellness.
As part of my consulting role, I have developed a series of workshops aimed at professional skill development for The Reh-Fit Centre and designed various presentations for School Divisions around Manitoba including large scale presentations and smaller hands on workshops for educators.
